Gmail Sync Tables

Sync messages and threads into Coda with the help of Sync Tables.

Sync table quick start guide

Drag and drop the Messages table or the Threads table into your doc.

Choose the account to use for the sync.

Add any filters or additional criteria to narrow down your dataset.

Click Sync Now - you’re done!

Optional: Rearrange and hide/unhide columns as you please.

The Gmail Pack offers two sync tables to bring you inbox into Coda: Messages and Threads. Each table offers a set of optional inputs to sync in exactly the messages you want.

Messages Sync Table

Required Inputs

Account: The Gmail account used to pull in this data.

Optional Inputs

Date range : Returns emails from within the given date range.

Contains text : Returns emails that contain the given words.

Contains exact text: Returns emails that contain the given words exactly.

From: Returns emails sent from the given people.

To: Returns emails sent to the given people.

Subject: Returns emails where the subject contains the given words.

Label: Returns emails with the given label.

Unread: Returns emails that are either read or unread, depending upon the input.

Starred: Returns emails that are starred.

Has attachment: Returns emails that have attachments.

Threads Sync Table

Required Inputs

Account: The Gmail account used to pull in this data.

How to add a Gmail Pack sync table to your doc 👇

Drag and drop a Sync Table into your doc

To add either the Messages sync table or the Threads sync table to your doc:

At the top-right of your doc, click Insert.

Select Packs from the side panel menu.

Select Gmail from the Installed Packs section. 💡 Need to install the Pack first? Head to

for instructions.

Scroll to Tables and select either Messages or Threads. Drag and Drop the selected table into your doc on the desired page.

Configure your Sync Table.

Once you’ve added the Sync Table to your doc, the side panel will display the Sync Table settings. From here, you can configure the refresh rate, the sync account, and apply any sync filters to your table.

Once you’ve configured your Sync Table settings, click Sync Now in the table, or at the bottom of the side panel.

Adjust Sync Table columns.

Once your Gmail data is synced into Coda, you may want to rearrange, add, and/or hide the columns available to you in the Sync Table.

To rearrange columns:

Hover over the column header until you see your mouse arrow turn into a hand.

Drag and drop the column into the desired position.

Hidden and visible columns:

Your sync tables will hold rich objects containing all the message/thread data from Gmail and place that data into table columns. Some of these columns are hidden by default when you first add the sync table to your doc. To see what data is already being synced in and that can be made visible:

Hover over the top of your Sync Table, and select Columns.

Review the columns under Hidden. These columns can be made visible if you’d like this data displayed in your sync table by clicking the “crossed-out eye” icon.

If you’d like to hide any visible columns, click the blue “eye” icon next to the name of the visible column you’d like hidden.

Once you make a column visible, if you change your mind, you can also right-click the column header to open the column settings, and select Hide to hide it again.
